Success means progress, prosperity, wealth, attainment influence, fortune, achievement and several things to several people but whatever success means to you, I want you to know that you have been anointed as a child of God into a covenant relationship with success in all the areas of your life.
The Bible says,
"Thus saith the Lord of hosts, in those days, it shall come to pass that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew saying, we will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you." Zecharariah 8 vs. 23
The Bible says here that ten men out of ten languages and nations shall say to one born again child of God, "We shall go with you." What does that mean? The Bible is simply saying that if a man is a child of God, they will be so successful that their success shall attract men and call for special attention. Many people will go to them and say, "We will follow you, though we have been struggling with you before now but we have found out that God is with you, you are above us."
The Bible says,
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1 vs. 1 – 3
Here, the Bible is simply saying that any man who walks in the law of the Lord and obeys the law of the Lord shall be like a tree planted at a meeting point of rivers, that bringeth forth fruit in his season, his leaves shall not wither and whatsoever he does shall prosper. That means if you are an obedient child of God and have a pure relationship with God. If you allow the word of God to determine your action, what things so ever you lay your hands to do shall prosper. Any man who obeys the commandment of the Lord shall be a commander of the word of God. The Bible says in Romans 6 vs. 23,
"For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
This means that the wages of sin is death but the wages of righteousness is abundant life. Everything we need in this life, God has already provided it, you should plunge into it. In John 5 vs. 12, it says,
"Then spake Jesus again unto them saying, I am the light of the world, he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life."
In Psalm 119 vas 130, it says,
"The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
This means that to have light is to have difficult things easy. If your house were in darkness, you will not find the things you need, but when there is light, you will find the things you need.
Jesus says, "If any man is in me, he will have the light of this life." In other works, you are the light of the world around you. And whoever is a light is a distinguished person; he is a man that is successful.
The Bible says,
"Arise shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." Isaiah 6 vs. 1
The Bible says,
"Arise." And do what? "And shine." Why? Because "… your light is come." What does that mean? The Bible says that any man who has received the word of God, has received light. And because you have received light, you will no longer be down, you will not be in darkness again. So, the Bible says, "Arise and shine." Now, a man who is shining is that man who has distinguished himself. A man who is shining is a man of great success.
A man who is shining is a man who is favoured. The Bible says, you cannot shine unless you receive light, and when you receive light, you will no more be in darkness. The Bible is saying to us, if there is any struggle in your life, it shows you have not received the light you ought to receive in that area. The Bible says, if you are not doing well in any area of your life, it means you have not found the missing link. If you are not doing well in your finances, health, marriage or any area of your life, it is because you have not received light in that area. And the Bible says, when you receive that light, you will arise and you will shine, why? Because your light has come, and you will begin to shine in all the areas of your life.
It is your lack of light in the specific area of your life that make you to struggle in that area. As a believer, the highest and the greatest mountain is ignorance. The Bible says, "my people (they suffer) and they perish (and they are humiliated)" because of "… (lack of knowledge." The Bible says, the principal thing in life is wisdom. It further says that we should seek after wisdom for it has honour, long life and promotion.
If there is any struggle or suffering in your life, any sin that overcomes you, it is because you do not know how to overcome that struggle, suffering. Any area of struggle in your life shows there is a missing link. And the Bible says that when light comes into your life, you will arise.
It takes secrets to succeed. This means that every area of life has secrets; marriage, health, promotion, ministry, business, all have secrets. Without the secret of music for instance, you might sing all you want but you might not succeed. This is so because, you can sing from your head and not touch the heart; and not move the power of God, and only entertain people. But do you know that when you learn the secret of music, ministration, sing song service, you will sing on the stage and people will cry out in repentance of their sins, get healed, delivered, fall under the anointing and all kinds of miracles will begin to happen in the audience. But if you do not know the secret, when you sing, people will laugh and clap. They will only be entertained.
Job said in the Bible,
"As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; when the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me, when I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; when I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! The young men saw me and hid themselves and the aged arose and stood up. The princes refrained talking; and laid their hand on their mouth. The nobles held their peace and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me." Job 29 vs. 4 - 11
What Job was saying here is that when I had the secret of the lord, when others washed their feet with water, I washed mine with butter. Are you a girl seeking marriage? Ask God for the secret of marriage. Are you struggling in your marriage? Ask God for the secret of a successful marriage. Are you struggling in your Job, or business? Ask God for the secret of Job or business excellence. Are you struggling with hopeless poverty? Ask God. Do you know that nobody has financial problem? What people have is idea problem.
In Job 29 vs. 4 quoted above, the Bible calls it "the secret of God." Do you know that every treasure in life and of life is buried in the deep? It is not for everybody to pick. If you want to have that secret, you must dig for it, search for it, you must dig deep to get it just like Daniel did and got it.
"Then Daniel went in and desired of the King that he would give him time, and that he would show the King the interpretation. Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, his companions. That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning their secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Daniel blessed the God of heaven." Daniel 2 vs. 19
The Bible says when Daniel was given time, he went in search of that secret. Sister, if your husband is rude to you, a slow driver, and has no tender feeling for you, go to God. Ask Him, What shall I do to turn him around? If you are not doing well in Christian life, go to God and ask Him, What do I do? If you are not doing well in your business, go to God and ask Him to teach you the secrets of success in business. You need that secret which is buried and unless you have that secret, you will not succeed.
The Bible says,
"It is the glory of God to conceal a thing but the honour of Kings to search out a matter." Proverbs 25 vs. 2.
God hides secrets from us. If you are a sister attending a conference and you had five hundred thousand naira in your handbag, you will hold it and not drop it carelessly because you have something you treasure in it. Whenever you see a woman misplace her handbag, it is because there is no money in that handbag. If a woman has a large sum of money in her handbag, she will not allow it to be placed on the floor. She will always have it in her armpit. When you call for offering, while she dances, she will be watching those who are coming very close to her. The same way, the secret of life is buried. Your business has its secret. When God reveals it to you, you will be an honourable man. Our Christian life and work has secrets. Job said, "when the secrets of God was revealed …" You must make up your mind to dig deep for the secrets of God, the secrets of life, the secrets of areas of your life where you are not doing well. Ask God for that secret.
The Bible says,
"What man is he that feareth the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant." Psalm 25 vs. 12, 14
This means that the secret of the lord is with them that fear Him. Do you know that if a lady had twenty-five thousand naira in her handbag, she will put it in her armpit? But if her close friend comes, somebody she trusts, she could give that money to him/her to hold for her? That way God wants to give you the secret of life, marriage, holiness, business and Christian living. But He will not give it to you until you give evidence that you love and fear Him.
When we speak of the love of the lord, we speak of what you do in the absence of multitude when there is nobody around. In Genesis 39 vs. 21, the Bible says,
"But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison."
The Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy and God gave him favour in the sight of his master. Why? Because Joseph was a righteous man. Do you know that the righteous shall always be protected and promoted by heaven? Anybody who wants to receive the secret of the Lord must live a pure life. Purity is a prerequisite for the secrets of the Lord. Holiness qualifies you to have all round success from God. A man who is righteous, heaven will be his teacher. God will instruct him. God will be his teacher and if God is your teacher, you are bound to be a successful student. Righteousness guarantees success in life. It will cause you to have a sound mind and the ability to think well. Do you know that no man can rise above his imagination? You can never rise above your thoughts. A righteous man will always have a sound mind and will have the ability to think in a creative way.
There is no problem in life that can withstand the sustained assault of creative thinking. No! What you do with the word of God determines your placement in life. If you lack the desire for it, it simply means that your captivity, your failure and your sins will continue. The Bible says,
"Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded." Proverbs 13 vs. 13.
The Bible is simply saying here that if you mock God’s word today, you will be an object of mockery tomorrow. Therefore, miss whatsoever would make you to miss God. Whatsoever will stop you, stop that thing. Everyone of us must know that heaven enthrones and promotes the righteous. Heaven counsels the righteous; heaven speaks the righteous, heaven instructs the righteous.
In 1 Samuel 3 vs. 8, the Bible says,
"And David inquired at the Lord, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him, pursue: for thou shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all."
David enquired of the Lord. You too can inquire of Him. If you are owing a debt, you need to ask God what to do to pay those debt. If you cannot feed your family well, ask God: What do I do to be able to feed my family? You must learn to apply the enquire prayer. God has an answer because He has destined you for an all round success, and you must succeed in every area of your life because God is ready to help you be what He wants you to be.
There are so many Christians who are lazy. When the enemy corners them or cage them, they will stop there. Whereas God expects everyone of us to move from layer to layer, level to level of intensity of prayer. If you ask God for a miracle and no miracle happens or no information or counsel comes, you must seek after God. And if you seek after God, and no answer comes, you must knock at the door of heaven. If you knock and there is no answer, you fast your prayer. If you fast and there is no answer, you must vow your prayer. If you vow and there is no answer, you must weep your prayer. If you weep and there is no answer, you must wrestle with God. After wrestling with God, your name is bound to change and you will be what God has destined you to be. You will have all round success. It is your portion, begin to manifest it in Jesus Name!
